The following initialization string is provided for use with communications software that permit a modem initialization or originate string. It is by no means the only string that can be used, just the most effective. The following string includes full error correction as well as full data compression for maximum output. Please use this string if the software you are using requests one or if you do not have a Hayes Ultra 14400 modem choice: ATB0E1V1&F&C1&D2\A3\N6\Q3\V1%C1\J0 The following is a break down of the initialization string to show what commands are performed: AT Attention Characters B0 Places the modem into a CCITT mode E1 Turns "Echo Commands" to on V1 Turns "Word Responses" to on &F Recalls factory default configuration &C1 Turn on Carrier Detect signal when remote carrier &D2 signal is present Modem hangs up, returns to the Command Mode, and prepares for asynchronous operation following an ON to \A3 OFF Data Terminal Ready transition \N6 Selects a 256 character maximum MNP block size \Q3 Enables V.42/MNP/Normal data link operation \V1 Selects RTS/CTS signal bidirectional hardware flow %C1 control \J0 Turns "Send extended responses" to on Enable MNP Class 5 or V.42bis data compression Disable RS-232-C baud rate adjustment (Keep data rate Please refer to your TurboModem Plus User's Guide for more information on these commands as well as other commands available.
