CPC091692 217.DOC The Complete Modem or Complete Modem Plus Faxing from Professional Write This document is provided as "For your information" and as is. Neither The Complete PC nor any of it's employees assume any responsibility for consequences resulting from the use of the following information nor can the Complete PC technical support provide help with this document. The user of said information does so at his or her own risk. Using the HotKey Although the HotKey can be used with Professional Write, there are two problems with doing so. The most glaring of these is that Professional Write does not issue the correct page break commands so that a multi-page document will be interpreted as one page separated by spaces. Faxes of one page or less are unaffected. The second problem is that our HotKey program (PHKSEND) that is supposed to run automatically after you exit to DOS is instead executed from within the Professional Write program, where it appears in the document and does nothing. To prevent this, you should, at a DOS prompt, type the following: PKEYMODE /M You will now have to enter the PHKSEND command after leaving Professional Write or any other program in which you use the HotKey. (See Appendix C in the Complete Modem or Complete Modem Plus manual for more information.) Printing to Disk When printing to disk using Professional Write all character formatting codes (bold, underline, italic, etc.) are removed from the document. Paragraph formatting (center, left justify, right justify, etc.) is retained. To print do disk using Professional Write, do the following: 1)Choose "Print Working Copy" from the file menu. 2)Select "Disk File" from the "Print to" portion of the print options screen. 3)Name the file. For ease of use you should have Professional Write place the print file in the Complete Modem or Complete Modem Plus (C:\PFAX) directory and the file should also have a .PRN extension (example: C:\PFAX\FAXFILE.PRN). After printing to disk you can go directly to The Complete Modem or Complete Modem Plus's Send Faxes screen, enter the filename (example: C:\PFAX\FAXFILE.PRN) and the PFAX software will automatically convert and send the file.
