Setting up Lap Link Pro To configure Lap Link Pro for use with the Complete Modem or Complete Modem Plus. First you must execute the Lap Link program. Then choose Options and select Port/Modem Setup. Choose the modem serial port used by the Complete Modem or Complete Modem Plus modem. You will be presented with a modem list. The Complete Modem or Complete Modem Plus will not be listed in the selection menu so you must choose Hayes Compatable. The settings Tone Dial and Auto Answer will have to be checked if they aren't already. Then goto Setup Port... and make sure Enable Port, Use Modem, and Forced Standard (3-Wire) Mode are all checked. Set the Baud Rate setting to the modem's maximum speed of 2,400 Click OK and then Done to save the changes . The Modem or Modem Plus is now configured for Lap Link Pro. Using Lap Link Pro To use Lap Link Pro you must remove the fax background before loading Lap Link Pro. The modem will not function properly with PFAXBACK loaded. Once the initialization string is modified, please consult your Lap Link manual on calling and logging onto another Lap Link machine. Since Lap Link Pro does not operate in resident memory, it must be on screen at all times for it to function. If Lap Link Pro is not operating in the foreground the software will not work. Make sure the Com port setting in Lap Link Pro matches the setting on the Complete Modem or Modem Plus.
