                    The Complete Communicator
                     How to UnInstall FAXit


This document is provided as "For your information" and as is.
Neither The Complete PC nor any of it's employees assume any
responsibility for consequences resulting from the use of the
following information.  The user of said information does so at
his or her own risk.

This document explains how to uninstall and remove FAXit for
Windows software by Alien Computing.

Files to be modified
The following files were modified during the original
installation and contain statements that must be removed for
FAXit to be completely uninstalled.  Note:  These changes must be
made or else errors will occur as FAXit will be looking for files
that no longer exist.  Before you begin to uninstall FAXit you
will need to make sure that FAXit is not your default printer in
Windows.

WIN.INI
SYSTEM.INI

WIN.INI
The following lines will be found in your WIN.INI file under the
Windows subdirectory.  These will need to be completely deleted
(Unless specified otherwise) and the file saved.

[Windows]
Load=FAXitSCH                 The FAXitSCH command of this
                              line needs to be removed

Fax Device=FAXit,FAXitDRV,FAXitDB,FAXitSCH

[FAXit]

[PrinterPorts]
FAXit=FAXITDRV, CCOM,15,45

[Devices]
FAXit=FAXITDRV,CCOM

SYSTEM.INI
The following lines will be found in your SYSTEM.INI file under
the Windows subdirectory.  These will need to be changed (Unless
specified otherwise) and the file saved.

[Boot]
comm.drv=faxcom.drv           This should be changed to
                              comm.drv=comm.drv.
***REBOOT THE PC***

Finally there are 7 files in the Windows directory that need to
be deleted after the above modifications are made.  These files
are:

FAXCOM.DRV
FAXIT.EXE
FAXITDB.DLL
FAXITDRV.DRV
FAXITSCH.EXE
FAXITUTL.DLL

You can also remove the icons in Windows by highlighting them and
hitting the delete key.  Once the icons are gone you can delete
the FAXit group window by hitting delete once more.

FAXit is now Removed
