                    The Complete Communicator
                  Using a Microtek Page Scanner

This note addresses the use of a Microtek scanner with the
Complete Communicator.
The driver that is used by the Complete Communicator program is
MICROTEK.SYS.  If you are using MSCAN.SYS or any other Microtek
scanner driver,  it will not work with the Complete Communicator
software.  You will need to contact Microtek to verify if your
scanner will work with the MICROTEK.SYS driver.

We will not work with MSCAN.SYS.  The symptom will be that the
scanner is not recognized if the correct driver is not used.

In the CONFIG.SYS file you must have the following statement
(assuming a Microtek Interface Card address of 200):

                     DEVICE=MICROTEK.SYS 200
                                
The DIP switches on the Microtek Scanner Interface Card should be
set as follows for an address of 200:
     
                          Switch 1  off
                          Switch 2-8 on
     
Consult your Microtek interface board manual for other address
settings.  If you choose another address be sure to reflect the
correct address in the CONFIG.SYS file.
