                    The Complete Communicator
                    Faxing from Wordstar 5.5

provide help with this document.  The user of said information
does so at his or her own risk.

To use Wordstar with The Complete Communicator you must first
have installed the printer driver for the IBM ProPrinter or the
Epson FX family of printers (the FX-80 will work best). See your
Wordstar manual for instrucions on adding a printer driver to
your current Wordstar system.

                        Using the HotKey

Note:  Wordstar 5.5 uses the default HotKey (Alt F) to access
file options. To use the HotKey with Wordstar, please re-
configure your HotKey for a different key combination (such as
Alt X).

To use the HotKey, do the following:

Load/Create the document you wish to send as a fax.

Enable the HotKey by pressing the HotKey key combination.

Press Alt F (Wordstar's file menu) and select "Print a File".

Enter the filename for the file you wish to print.

Set "Printer name" to Epson FX.

Set "Redirect output to port" to LPT1.

Exit Wordstar. CCOM will run the HKEYSEND program automatically
and your file will be converted to a fax and sent.

NOTE:  HotKey is known to not come up automatically with DOS 4.0
or higher. If you have our Communicator installed in a machine
with 4.0 or higher, you will have to execute the HKEYSEND
manually. To do this, at the DOS prompt type HKEYSEND and press
return.


                        Printing to Disk
                                
Load/Create the document you wish to send as a fax.

Press Alt F (Wordstar's file menu) and select "Print a File".

Enter the filename for the file you wish to print.

Set "Printer name" to Epson FX.

Set "Redirect output to port" to the name print file. For ease of
use you should have Wordstar place the print file in the Complete
Communicator (C:\CC) directory and the file should also have a
.PRN extension (example: C:\CC\FAXFILE.PRN).

Exit Wordstar.

After printing to disk you can go directly to The Complete
Communicator's Send Faxes screen, enter the filename (example:
C:\CC\FAXFILE.PRN) and CCOM will automatically convert and send
the file.
