                    The Complete Communicator
                   Faxing from WordPerfect 5.x

provide help with this document.  The user of said information
does so at his or her own risk.

                        Using the HotKey

The Complete Communicator conversion needs the document to be in
a format
it understands before it can be converted properly. The file
format we recognize is the Epson FX , or IBM ProPrinter print
file. To set up WordPerfect for an Epson or IBM print driver (if
it isn't set this way already), please do the following:

Enter WordPerfect and bring up the file you wish to fax.

Press Shift F7 for print options.

Press S to Select Printers.

If the Epson FX or IBM ProPrinter is not on your list, press 2
for Additional Printers.  Select the driver. (We recommend the
IBM ProPrinter, Epson FX 80,100 or 286e/86e).

Press 3 to Edit.

Press 2 for Port. Make sure LPT1 is the current port.

F7 to return to the main document. Press Alt-F for the HotKey
window to appear. Fill out the information, then F10. Press
return through the next window.

Press Shift F7.

Press 1 for Full Document, then exit WordPerfect to a DOS prompt.

Once you get to the prompt, HKEYSEND should show up at the prompt
automatically. If you get an error message "no print file
captured," it means it did not have a file to capture at LPT1.
Make sure you are doing the print command.

NOTE:  HotKey is known to not come up automatically with DOS 4.0
or higher. If you have our Communicator installed in a machine
with 4.0 or higher, you will have to execute the HKEYSEND
manually. To do this, at the DOS prompt type HKEYSEND and press
return.
                                
               Printing to Disk using WordPerfect
                                
The Complete FAX conversion needs the document to be in a format
it understands before it can be converted properly.  The file
format we recognize is the Epson FX print file.  To set up
WordPerfect for a print file, please do the following:

Enter WordPerfect and bring up the file you wish to fax.

Press Shift F7 for print options.

Press S to Select Printer.

If the Epson FX or IBM ProPrinter is not on your list, press 2
for Additional Printers.  Select the driver. (We recommend the
IBM ProPrinter, Epson FX 80,100 or 286e/86e).

Press 3 to Edit.

2 for Port.

8 for Other.

You will be prompted for a device or filename.  You may wish to
direct the print output to the C:\CC for Communicator users
directory.

C:\CC\FAXFILE.PRN

F7 to exit to the print options menu.

Press 1 for Full Document.

When finished printing to disk (wait for the disk light to finish
flickering), exit WordPerfect and enter the Communicator's
Complete FAX menu.  At the Send Faxes screen, put in the
FAXFILE.PRN and the phone number.  Press F1O and the file will
convert, then send!

You have to change your printer definition back to LPT1 if you
need to print to your printer from WordPerfect, since it is still
set to print to disk.
